Biography

Temitola Adekunle-Johnson is the Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria on MSMEs and Job Creation. He possesses a deep-rooted passion for managing and growing small and medium- sized enterprises (SMEs).

 

His vast knowledge and experience in the business landscape and his drive for the growth of SMEs was soon recognized as he was nominated and appointed the Special Assistant to the President on MSMEs and Development Finance Institutions (DFI) in the President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo administration, a portfolio which he held between 2015 to 2023. Throughout his tenure in multiple administrations, he spearheaded and executed numerous impactful projects, including the establishment of MSME Clinics, Hubs, and One Stop Shops nationwide.

 

He initiated the annual MSME Awards and managed the Covid-19 Survival Fund. Additionally, he launched the National Philanthropy Office, securing over $200 million for MSME support. With a focus on private sector partnerships, he facilitated the development of 22 MSME Hubs. His commitment to MSMEs earned him prestigious awards, including recognition from the United Nations.

 

He’s lauded for his advocacy and policy implementation, fostering a conducive environment for MSME growth and job creation.
